The Universal Arc first introduces Jack as a convict, forced in slavery to build the town of Magpie Gully under the control of Captain Tucker. Jack is reunited with his long lost brother Zack, before tested by Darkness. Jack is challenged to kill his brother to show his worthiness on becoming Governor in a new colony. But is stopped by Cinetorium Brother Jason the Filmmaker, and soon joins the United Family as a future teen talent.
