Jason Wingate
Founder of Cinetorium
and Qualified Filmmaker

Our Story

The entire story of Cinetorium begins with our founder Jason Wingate.

The idea of Cinetorium came to Jason's in 2003, when he felt the need of a cinema that was also a concert auditorium. At the time, Jason was struggling to find a film producer for his work.

Although the dream began in 2003, Jason didn't really pursue Cinetorium as a business or movement into early 2009. The pursue began as a mixed gender band called 'the Cinetorium Gang', but since it proved too difficult to find a committed group of five, Jason decided to return to his initial dream of forming a duo act. The act would soon be known as 'The Cinetorium Brothers'. â€‹

By 2010, Jason reconnected with another childhood friend from his 'Brisbane Gang Show' days. the two friends formed Jason's dream duo act, 'The Cinetorium Brothers', but but since they struggled to build up their singing confidence, The Cinetorium Brothers decided to form a group of 'Teen Talents' who would do the singing for them. After an unsuccessful pitch to a local TV station to set up a television program however, the initial Cinetorium Brother duo decided to seperate, and Jason was once again left to pursue his dream on his own.

For 2 - 3 years Jason struggled to move on from his Cinetorium dream. Then in 2013, decided to follow through with his plans to pursue Cinetorium after all. â€‹After sharing his 'Cinetorium' vision to a fellow member of a church he was attending at the time, Jason received strong words on using grim imagery in his stories. Jason was accused of worshipping the devil, and despite an apology from the church pastor on the member's behalf, Jason took this experience as a wake up call, and turned to God in prayer to surrender his Cinetorium vision. Though Jason gave God full permission to destroy Cinetorium, if he felt it unworthy, God ensured Jason he wouldn't destroy Cinetorium since he had good use for it.

In July 2015, exactly 10 years after Jason began writing scripts from the S&J.Project, Jason received a calling from God.

"You will soon be connected with a Gay Christian Music Student, who will become your miracle soul mate, and help you build the Cinetorium"

Jason met Timothy Clark on the set of a local film shoot in 2018. The two connected instantly, and around May 2020, God revealed to Jason that Tim was his promised miracle soul mate all along.

As a request by God, Tim and Jason perform a ritual through holy communion, which united them through the Light and Blood of Christ. We now understand today that the name 'Cinetorium Brothers' means 'Brothers in Christ in the Cinetorium Arts'. The ritual was perform on 30th May 2020, which now marks the annual date for 'Cinetorium Day'. A festive day in which we celebrate the anniversary of the Cinetorium Brothers, as well as give thanks to God for what he's done for Cinetorium - and his future plans.

The journey of the Cinetorium Brothers and their growing United Family will be told through Cinetorium's Universal Arc of the Founding Generation. The Universal Arc is a sacred document which captures the true and fictional stories that shape Cinetorium's Universe. The Founding Generation is referred to the generation that initially begins the Cinetorium Legacy, starting with the Cinetorium Brothers, their Teen Talents, and Production Crew.
